The more I see of Warm Bodies the more I think this could be a break-out zombie movie, an off-beat horror flick unlike anything we’ve seen before and that might have what it takes to bring people out to theaters who ordinarily wouldn’t be caught dead at a zombie movie.
It looks, essentially, like a zombie romantic comedy. What – you say that sounds improbable? More improbable than Twilight‘s sparkly vampires? How about the cross-species love story of HBO’s True Blood?
The clip up above presents the first four minutes. You’ll find the official movie trailer for Warm Bodies at Game Zombies.
Warm Bodies stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton and John Malkovich. It’s scheduled to open Feb. 1. Aw shucks. It’ll be around for Valentines Day.
Official Synopsis for Warm Bodies: A funny new twist on a classic love story, Warm Bodies is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human – setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.
